Spooky season is over, and while you’re probably clamoring to put up the tree and punch out eight dozen Christmas cookies, let’s not forget one of the best holidays of the entire year.
I mean, come on. A whole day dedicated to comfort food and pie? Thanksgiving is so underrated; I say it’s time to give it a chance in the spotlight.
One way to give turkey day the attention it deserves? Three words, my friend.
Themed. Thanksgiving. Outfits.
Put on your sweatpants and grab your pumpkin spice latte; it’s time to pick the perfect Thanksgiving outfits for your little turkeys.

1. Fall Color Scheme
If you’re having difficulty deciding where to start, it’s always safe to go with a fall color scheme. You know the ones I’m talking about! Mustard yellow, terracotta, olive, pretty plum. Whether it’s t-shirts and jeans or fluffy dresses and shirts with bow-ties, a fall color scheme is always an easy idea to fall back on (you know, for us procrastinating mamas).
2. Gobble Gobble!
I don’t know about you, but when I think about Thanksgiving, the first thing that comes to mind is that delicious, golden, steaming turkey.
Why not use this as inspiration for your kid’s Thanksgiving outfit? I personally find food very inspirational, so this is a fave. This feast mode onesie helps everyone know just how excited your little one is for the big event, and this gobble gobble top is sure to be a hit!
3. All Dolled Up
Who doesn’t love an excuse to get dressed up? If you’re all about the fancy-schmancy ensembles for your kids, this is the perfect option for you on Thanksgiving. A fun dress – maybe even something with embroidery? – will give you the look you want.
4. Pajama Day
On the opposite side of the spectrum, why not just spend the whole day in our pajamas? If I could do this every day, I would. It’s a holiday, people. Treat yourself.
These pumpkin spice pajamas are basically to die for, and I wish they were available in my size. They’re perfect for Thanksgiving!
5. Pilgrims and Indians
Take it back to the root of the holiday. Getting your little ones dressed up as pilgrims and Indians will be an excellent opportunity to teach a little history lesson about Thanksgiving (not to mention it will also make for an ADORABLE photo op. You’re welcome.)
6. Food Themed
Ok, now back to being inspired by food.
We already covered the turkey, but let’s talk about some of the other award winners at your Thanksgiving dinner.
For one thing, the rolls (both on your plate and on your baby). Give your little one a t-shirt showcasing those prize-winning rolls for the big day.
And what about the pie? A cute pie onesie is going to be a huge hit, especially during dessert. Just put a little bit of that pumpkin pie and some whipped cream on their high hair tray and let them go nuts. (Again, the perfect photo op.) Let’s give those pies a place to shine.
7. Vintage Styles
If you love all things vintage, you likely have a few items on hand for the little ones. However, it’s hard to justify putting them in these unique pieces for a day at pre-school or afternoon playtime.
But a holiday is the perfect opportunity! Put them in those vintage outfits for turkey day.
8. Matching Shirts
If you have multiple children, we are all about getting them in matching outfits for just about any occasion – especially holidays. Snag some coordinating kid’s shirts and onesies to get your little ones ready for the festivities!
Plus, if you’re not seeing anything that fits your vision, we can also do custom onesies with any of your holiday ideas!
9. Gratitude
The ultimate goal of Thanksgiving is to help us all acknowledge the things that we’re thankful for. Use this as inspiration for your kid’s Thanksgiving outfits! This grateful for naps onesie is one of our favorites (and just so dang true, am I right?), as is this thankful shirt.
10. My First Thanksgiving
And of course, what could be better than a My First Thanksgiving outfit?
Not much. Not much is better than that.
Maybe pie. But that’s not the point.
